by penibear Another selection of wonderful ideas for using not only the stamps that are part of your subscription gift, but some of the pretty papers too. Sometimes you see a sheet of patterned paper and draw a blank as to how to use it! Hopefully this will help a little with those moments. Some of the cards would be ideal for male family members and friends.
You will need:(Don't forget your 10% Guild Members Discount at The Stamp Bug!) Domino Background - Cut and fold the brown A5 card to make a tall card. Stamp the large dragonfly stamp several times on it in Sepia ink.
- Tear a long strip of the domino paper and colour it with the Marmalade and Walnut Distress ink pads. Glue it down the left hand side of the card. Tear a smaller strip and glue it across the card as shown, about a third of the way up from the base of the card.
 - Stamp the flowers on to a piece of cream card with Sepia ink and heat emboss with clear embossing powder. Cut around three sides and tear the bottom edge. Add gold embossing around all the straight edges and mount it on to the main card with sticky foam, placing it towards the top.
 - Punch several Swirl/flowers in both sizes from a selection of the backing papers, punch central holes and layer them all together with a brad. Either stick the completed flower onto the card or punch a hole and use the brad to fix it in place in the lower right section.
Holiday Tag - Make a standard C6 card from navy card. Tear strip of the maps and labels paper, screw them up, then flatten them out again to give them a slight aged look. Decorate them with Walnut ink and stick them randomly on to the card. Gold emboss the word 'Holiday', form your Words plate, in the top right hand corner of the main card.
- Either die cut a tag or take a pre-cut one, and stamp words on it in Sepia ink. Heat set with clear embossing powder. Sponge over it all with the Walnut and Faded Jeans ink pads.
- Stamp and clear emboss the words on to the map paper, tear them out, then attach them to the tag.
 - Stamp the Compass on to shrink plastic with Sepia ink and carefully cut out.
NOTE - the ink will be wet so be careful not to smear it. Punch a hole in the top, heat to shrink using a heat tool, then emboss it with two or three layers of clear embossing powder. - Stamp the word 'Holiday' on to black shrink plastic with gold ink. Punch a hole at one end and shrink. Thread some wire through the hole and attach both shrink plastic pieces to the tag.
 - Add fibres to the tag and then attach it, diagonally, to the card. Cut out the postage cancellation from the backing paper and stick on as shown, overlapping the bottom left hand corner of the tag.
Alcohol Ink Background - Decorate a piece of glossy card with the Alcohol Inks. Do this by first applying a felt pad to the Applicator Tool. Then put a small dot of the inks onto the felt pad and dab it onto the glossy card. You can apply the colours together, but make sure you keep them separate on the felt pad. The blending will come as you apply them to the card. When you are happy with the card, stop! Cut into two panels from this and stick them on to a black C6 card as shown.
- Cut a panel of cream card to layer on to the top panel. Sponge with the China and Marigold inks, then tear a portion out of the lower middle section. Gold emboss the torn edges and stamp the larger one with the dragonfly and the smaller one with dragonfly dream words, both in Sepia ink.
 - Mount the two torn edge panels on to the Alcohol inked panel and add three small dragonflies, punched from the gold card.
- Add three gold brads to the bottom panel and then mount both on to the card with sticky foam.
Memories of Amy - Cut a strip of the script paper to fit down a cream C6 card and stick it in place, slightly off centre to the left.
- Sponge a piece of cream card with Vintage Photo ink. Stamp Amy over it, in Sepia ink and then Penny's Text over that, also in Vintage Photo ink. Cut out the image and edge with gold embossing powder.
 - Add sticky foam to the back of the image and then use this to secure a length of eyelash fibre, wrapped around the back. Leave the ends dangling at the bottom of the image and then stick the panel to the card on the diagonal, towards the top of the paper panel.
- Thread some beads on to each end of the eyelash fibre.
 - Stamp the words 'family ' and 'love' on to black shrink plastic with gold ink. Cut out and punch holes in one end of each piece. Heat to shrink and then attach them to the ends of the fibres, tying on securely.
- Stamp the word 'memories' down the right hand side.
 - Cut or punch four small squares of black shrink plastic and stamp them with the text in gold ink. Heat to shrink them and then glue a tiny bead to each one. Add them to the card, placing two at the top right and two about a third of the way up from the bottom of the card on the left.
