We have put a together a kit that will get you started and it includes a black VersaFine ink pad. This range of ink pads is specially formulated for use on detailed images, like this lock and key.
The kit consists of: (Don't forget your 10% Guild Members Discount at The Stamp Bug!) Special Offer Pack - Mystical Key Now Available
You will also need: Mystical and Magical - Measure and fold a standard C6 white hammered card
- Stamp the Lock image on to fawn card using the black VersaFine ink pad and then emboss it with the Faux powder. Some parts of the image will show through as the ink is fairly quick to dry, but this is fine and adds to the overall aged effect. Cut out the image in a rectangular panel and then emboss the edges.
 - Add four brads to the corners and then matte and layer it on to backing paper, then on to black card and finally on to the red card.
- Repeat the process with the Key, but this time just mount it onto backing paper.
- Ink up the Word stamps with the VersaFine ink pad and stamp it two or three times all over the front of the card. Don't re ink in between stamping and don't worry too much if the images are not perfect. Again this adds to the aged look!
 - Attach the Lock and Key panels with sticky foam dots.
Metal Keyhole - Measure and fold a standard C6 black card. Stamp and emboss the image twice on the card.
- Tear two strips of backing paper, then stamp and emboss a word on each and them emboss the edges. Stick them on to the card
- Apply the embossing ink pad all over the front of the small die cut lock and cover it with the embossing powder, then heat with a heat tool. Repeat, adding two or three layers until the lock is covered. Fix to a small red panel with brads.
 - Coil both ends of a 6 inch piece of wire. Stick this on the back of the lock with sticky foam dots and then add to the card.
Three Keys - Cut the red card in half and then fold lengthways. With embossing ink, stamp the Text portion of the Lock image all around the card edges and then heat emboss.
- Tear a strip of backing paper to fit down the card and stamp it a few times with the Lock/Text image. Attach it onto the card.
 - Add embossing ink to the die cut lock and then add two or three layers of embossing powder, heating between each addition. Whilst the last layer is still hot, press the Text stamp into one edge and leave to cool, then peel off the stamp. Add a piece of black card to the back and a brad to the top and bottom.
 - Stamp and emboss three keys onto black card. Cut them out, punch a hole in the top of each and tie a piece of fibre on each one.
- Stick the loose ends on the back of the keyhole with sticky foam dots and add to the card.
Tag - Draw round a tag on the fawn card and cut out.
- Stamp the Text on each side if the tag, using the VersaFine ink pad.
- Tear a strip of backing paper and stamp it with Keys and Words. Stick this on to the tag and trim the edges.
- Add some fibres.
ATCs - Cut two ATCs from black and red card - 2.5 x 3.5 inches or 64 x 89 mm.
- Stamp and emboss the word Mystical on the black one and then sprinkle on a little more embossing powder and heat again.
- Stamp and emboss the Key on to backing paper, tear a panel and mount on to red card.
- Tear the red card and add black ink to the edges. Stick this on to the ATC with sticky foam dots and add a few brads.
- For the other ATC - stamp backing paper with the Lock image, cut it out and stick it to the red ATC.
- Triple emboss the third die cut lock and mount it on to the ATC with sticky foam dots. Add a few brads and you’re all set to start swapping ATCs!
