Opalite ink pads are comprised of interference ink and come in nine different colours. The ink looks white on the pad, but shows up especially well on dark cardstock as a shimmery colour. They will show up on white and coloured card too, but the effect is more subtle. They have to be heat set, otherwise they smear – they work great on black shrink plastic as long as the ink is not too thick. If you tilt the first ATC I made, the face is alternatively negative and positive, depending on the light source. We have used pre-cut ATC blanks to make ours, but you can cut them from any card that you have to the required size of measure 2.5 x 3.5 inches or 64 x 89 mm. |

This wall hanging uses a number of different techniques and products. It’s more about using stuff you have to hand rather than getting special items in, so you have to be creative and rummage about on your desk to see what you could ‘recycle!’ The base is made from acetate which is a great surface to use your Alcohol Inks on. We’ve used them here with a mask and a matching stamp. It has been backed it with paper and card and embellishment layers are added to the top, the final piece being an Art Mould, which adds dimension to the whole project. We have left the choice of stamps to you, as you can then use what you already have. |

You don’t have to always make cards out of actual card. Acetate makes a really good basis for a project, although there are a couple of things you need to know about first. If you intend to emboss or otherwise use a heat tool, you must make sure that you have heatproof acetate before you start, otherwise you will produce a very interesting but lumpy piece of art! Also, to make sure it will stand up properly, the acetate needs to be fairly sturdy. Finally, you will need to think carefully about your composition and layout, as there will be two visible layers to interact with each other. The easiest way to do this is to assemble all your bits and pieces before sticking anything down... |

Your free June plate of stamps has summer in mind – a three shells background together with text and a pattern. The kit we’ve put together also includes two Flip Flop stamps which are great for the beach look. If you have any shrink plastic, they work brilliantly with that too to create a mini pair of flip-flops. The perfect size for a card embellishment! |

By Jane Pinder Diamond Fold Card
Our Fancy Fold this month would make a great note card or invitation as there is space on the inside for adding dates and times etc. On the other hand, it would make a pretty good greeting card as well!
So, we’ll start by trimming down a 12 x 12 sheet of paper to measure 11 x 11 inches. |
