Sea Shells 1

Your free June plate of stamps has summer in mind – a three shells background together with text and a pattern. The kit we’ve put together also includes two Flip Flop stamps which are great for the beach look. If you have any shrink plastic, they work brilliantly with that too to create a mini pair of flip-flops. The perfect size for a card embellishment!

The kit includes:

You will also need:

Sandals In The Sand

Sea Shells 2

Step by Step:

  1. Sea Shells 2
Fold A5 Maize card in half lengthways. Sponge around the edges with the Cool Mint/Pale Blue Dauber Duo.
  2. Sea Shells 3
Stamp Text on the lower half of the card with Ocean Depth VersaMagic Chalk ink pad. Without re-inking, stamp again two or three times around the first stamp. Re ink, stamp off on scrap paper and then add two more ‘ghost’ images at the top of the card.
  3. Sea Shells 3
Stamp Flips Flops on to pearlescent card with Ocean Depth. Over stamp with pattern and then cut out each Flip Flop.
  4. Sea Shells 4
Stamp both Flip Flops again and cut out just the strap parts. Colour with more Ocean Depth ink.

    Sea Shells 5
  5. Sea Shells 6
Add sticky foam pads to the front point of each strap and apply glue to the two ends at the back, then stick in place on the shoe part. Add to the card, using more sticky foam pads.
  6. Cut the shanks off two shell buttons with wire cutters and add a little of the Mint and Blue ink to each one. Fix to the card with small sticky foam pads.

Seashells

Sea Shells 7

Step by step

  1. Fold a piece of hammered ivory card into a standard C6 card.

  2. Ink up the Seashells background with both colours of the Dauber Duo and stamp onto the card three times, once top left, once centre right and once lower left. Have the images go off the edges of the card. You will need to re-ink in-between each one.
  3. Sea Shells 7
Stamp the same image onto the maize card with the Ocean Depth VersaMagic Chalk ink pad, then cut the image out using deckle edge scissors.

  4. Add more ink around the edges to darken them and mount on to a piece of pearlescent turquoise card, trimming to leave a small border. Stick on to the card with sticky foam pads.
  5. Add the ‘she sells’ text to the top right of the card.
  6. Cut off six button shanks and add ink to the buttons. Stick them on the card as shown using small sticky foam pads.

Sea Change

Sea Shells 8

Step by Step:

Sea Shells 8
  1. Cut a 10 x 10cm card from the plain turquoise card and sponge some Ocean Depth ink around the edges.
  2. Stamp the pattern on top of the darker bits, using the pale blue ink.
  3. Stamp the Seashells background on to a piece of ivory hammered card with Ocean Depth ink and heat emboss with clear embossing powder. Tear around the edges.
  4. Sea Shells 10
Apply some of the inks to a palette and ‘paint’ on to the image with a damp paintbrush, just as if you were using watercolours. When dry, stick on to the centre of the card.

ATCs

Sea Shells 11

Step by Step:

  1. Cut two ATCs from the ivory hammered card. Stamp and watercolour the background image on to one as before, add Ocean Depth ink around the edges, and glue three shell buttons to the bottom.

    Sea Shells 13
  2. Sponge the other ATC with Ocean Depth ink and stamp with the Flip Flop, and text.

    Sea Shells 14
  3. Stamp and silver emboss the pattern on the shoe, masking off the shoe with a Post-It Note, as shown here.

    Sea Shells 13
  4. Sea Shells 15
Stamp the strap part on separate card, and heat emboss with silver embossing powder. Cut out and stick on as shown. Add silver embossing powder around the edges and a button shell. ssp
