Acetate is often used as an overlay for an opaque backing when making a card, but you can just as easily use it for the main focus of the piece. A folded piece of acetate gives you two surfaces to play with, adding depth and dimension to your project – and you get a different look when you open out the card! You have to be a bit careful with the reverse of your designs, remember that it will show through, so it’s best to use glue that dries clear to fix embellishments on with. I’ve used Pritt Stick and double-sided sticky tape for gluing card on. You can also Spray Mount, but you will need the permanent kind, rather than repositionable. |

by Mickie Sutcliffe This pretty butterfly plate and the gorgeous colours combine to make this a winning card.
Mickie has worked her magic with both! This card would suit all ages and most occasions so why not make several in one sitting, perhaps with variations in colour schemes? |

Are you always chasing beads, brads and eyelets around your desk? Can you remember buying that blue ribbon but just can’t put your hand on it when you need it? That is me all over! So when I found this small wooden chest of drawers lurking at the back of a cupboard I knew just where I could keep all those little bits and pieces. However it was a bit boring, being just painted in one colour, so I decided to decorate it up a bit using the ‘Wish You Were Here’ plate of stamps with this month’s Guilded magazine. It seemed the perfect one to use as I really did wish all those bits were here, in one of the drawers! Plus it is not necessarily the first way you might think of using them. |

by Jennie Atkinson In the last issue of Guilded we had the first part of the projects from Jennie. Here we follow on with some more wonderfully inspiring ideas. CD Holiday Book It is quite common these days to hold our holiday photographs on a CD rather than within a photograph album, but it is all too easy for them to get lost. I regularly make these little holiday books to keep the CD safe. The flaps provide the perfect place to add photos as a reminder of what is on the CD. The CD label can be decorated with stamps and StazOn inks. |

A second idea for using your free stamps this time round. These stamps are the perfect size for using on scrapbook pages and they are pretty easy to cut out if that is what works on your page. I have to say that the scrapbooking I tend to do is fairly simple as I prefer the photos to be the main part of the page. But who knows, over time that may change! |

Time for another fancy fold I think! This one is very simple but quite effective. It can be adapted to fit any occasion from birthday, christening and wedding to Easter or Christmas. Any colours and patterns of paper and card can be used and the embellishments and brads can be adapted to fit your theme. So all in all a very versatile card. |
