Butterfly Kisses 1
This is a very pretty and unusual zig-zag card. It is perfect for those extra special birthdays as well as other special occasions too.

We used:

Step by Step:

  1. The concertina part of the card measures 10.5 x 7.5cm when concertina folded. Cut pink oblongs to fit on each concertina face inside the card and on the front. So you will need 5 pieces measuring about 6.25 x 9.5cm.
  2. Take two of these and the Flower stamp and using Pink Grapefruit randomly stamp the flower all over. Then do the same using Ginger and finally stamp over the gaps with Brick Red. Repeat this onto a strip of scrap pink card and stamp Butterfly Kisses with Lightning Black ink. Cut out the words.

  3. Using Lightning Black ink stamp Butterfly Kisses and the Flower randomly over one of the pink panels and stamp ‘Living is not enough’ centrally on another pink panel and ‘Love is like’ on the remaining pink panel. Cut this one to just over half in length. Trim the Living is not enough panel to be just slightly wider than the verse and trim the Butterfly Kisses panel to approximately the same size.
  4. Using the Flower stamp and both the Pink Grapefruit and the Ginger inks, stamp a border round the Love is like a butterfly panel.
  5. Still using Lightning Black ink, stamp the small Butterfly three times on pink card, the larger Butterfly three times and the Flower once. (I used the Clover Flower from the Yesterday a Butterfly plate). Carefully cut out all these images.
  6. With Lightning Black ink stamp the Sketched Butterfly onto one of the panels with a flower background.

  7. Cut a pink panel to approximately 6cm tall and 4cmwide. Edge with Lightning Black – this forms greeting tag.
  8. Edge each panel, together with the Butterfly and Kisses word blocks, using the Lightning Black ink pad and adhere to card as shown in the picture. The words are applied to the front of the card with sticky foam pads.
  9. Apply two of the smaller Butterflies to the Butterfly Kisses panel and the third below the verse on the Just Living panel with the Flower above the verse.
  10. Cut the wings from one of the larger butterflies and colour them with Brick Red ink. Pick up the ink from the pads using a fine paintbrush and use this to apply the colour. Colour body of another butterfly with Pink Grapefruit. Stick the wings to this butterfly and highlight the markings with a Sakura clear sparkle pen. Adhere this butterfly to just below the Love is like a butterfly panel.

  11. Apply Glossy Accents very finely to the outer edges of the remaining large butterfly so that it can be stuck to the final panel to form a corner pocket. When dry, insert the greeting tag.

The Finished Pieces!
