When I first saw these stamps I immediately knew that they would work great with metal and they made me think of all things vintage and distressed.
Â
They would work well for many occasions and are perfect for masculine cards, especially in time for Father’s Day.
For those of you who have not worked with metal before, I encourage you to give it a go – it really is easier than you think and the results look amazing.
I had a great time using these stamps and I hope that you like them too.
Trim Vellum to size and adhere to left edge of card blank.
Attach blue ribbon vertically to centre of card, overlapping vellum.
Stamp Pocket Watch onto pearl metal using StazOn and leave to dry. Once dry, use a Teflon tipped tool or embossing stylus tool to trace around the outline of the stamp, including any areas that you want to highlight (e.g. clock hands). Flip metal over and trace over the outline to define the image.
Place metal onto foam mat and, using the embossing stylus tool, puff out metal (see example), by gently working the tool over the required area to ‘stretch’ the metal into a ‘puff’. Keep flipping metal over to define and puff metal out until you are happy with the results
With the image side up, scribble on metal with Teflon tipped or embossing stylus tool to create background.
Spray glimmer mist to add shine and leave to dry.
Turn metal image side down and fill cavity (where metal puffed out) with Glossy Accents.
Matt onto a blue rectangle and leave to dry.
Attach to centre of card and fix buttons and metal charm to finish.
Create card blank to measure18.5 x 10.5 cm using chocolate card.
Stamp Times Past to left side of card using archival ink. Stamp the Time in Motion stamp randomly using archival ink.
Tear strips of green and chocolate card and vellum. Adhere to left of card.
Stamp the message onto cream card using crimson copper ink and mat onto dark brown card. Adhere at angle to left side of card, overlapping the vellum.
Stamp the Fob Watch onto metal using the StazOn ink pad and leave to dry.
Trace around image using Teflon tipped tool (see example).
Flip metal over and trace around image to create more definition.
Put the metal image side down onto a foam mat and puff out using an embossing stylus tool. Keep flipping metal over to create definition until you are happy.
Fill cavity with Glossy Accents and adhere to cream card. Matt onto dark brown and green card and fix to right side of card blank.
