Cave Paintings Art Pics - 1

Stef has designed a fabulous plate of stamps with a cave painting theme. These will be perfect for cards for the men folk! However, they are also great for children and ladies too!

The images are quite simple so you can really go to town with the backgrounds and embellishments.

Cute Embellishments

We used:

Step by Step:

  1. Cut a piece of white card slightly smaller than the front of the main black card that measures 10.5 x 14.5cm when folded.
  2. Use the Paint Dabbers to create a background colour on this card.
  3. Over stamp this with various elements from the plate of stamps using the black ink pad.
  4. Cut an irregular piece of black card using deckle scissors and gold emboss it with one of the images from the plate of stamps/
  5. Now cut an irregular piece of orange card, with straight scissors, and gold emboss the edges. Then stamp it with one of the animal images.
  6. Next use the Dabbers to colour a piece of shrink plastic. Allow the paint to dry, then over stamp with some of the elements. Carefully cut these out and punch a hole in the top of each piece before using a heat tool to shrink each piece.

  7. Once shrunk, edge each one using a gold Krylon Pen. Pass a piece of thread through the hole in the top of one piece, then thread beads onto the ends. Repeat with the other two pieces, then attach them to the back of the orange piece of stamped card using a foam pad.
  8. Take a length of gold wire and make a swirl shape at one end and a more angular swirl at the other. Attach this to the same piece of foam pad.
  9. Attach the large layer to the black card using double-sided tape, then add the black piece. Finally attach the orange layer with it’s various dangly bits!

Memory Glass Art

We used:

Step by Step:

  1. The main card measures 10.5 x 14.5cm when folded and is in landscape orientation.
  2. Roughly tear two pieces of mulberry paper and stamp them with one of the designs in black ink.
  3. Apply the Alcohol inks to the applicator tool and dab the colour onto the glossy card. Once dry, stamp this with the images from the plate of stamps. Again, once dry, apply Glossy Accents to the Memory Glass and attach this to the card. Once the adhesive has set, trim the card to fit the glass. Then run the gold Krylon pen around all four edges of the glass.
  4. Tear a piece of text paper so it is larger than the glass. Fashion three pieces of copper wire into lengths with swirls on one end.

  5. Attach the mulberry paper to the card.

  6. Attach the wires to the back of the text paper before attaching it to the card.
  7. Use tape or glue to then attach the Memory Glass piece to the centre of the text paper.

The Finished Pieces!

The perfect card for your man’s birthday!
