Christenings are special events and as such call for a special card for a very special baby.
While ours is made in shades of pink, simply change to shades of blue for a boy! Of course, there’s nothing to say it has to be pink or blue!
We used:
Step by Step
- Ink up the Precious Baby stamp with embossing ink. Stamp twice on the card front, top left and bottom right. Sprinkle with silver embossing powder, shake off excess and heat to melt.
- Cut three pieces of pink pearlescent card - approximately 8 x 9cm, 3 x 3cm and 3 x 6cm. Take the large piece and dab the edges on the embossing ink pad. Then dip them into silver embossing powder and heat to give a silver border. Do the same with the small square. Stamp a part of the Baby Clothes Line across the third piece with the Twilight ink pad and then repeat the silver border process with this piece too.
- With embossing ink, stamp the Pram, Rattle and Clothes Line on to pieces of cream card and heat emboss with clear powder. Take the Marvy markers and scribble some colour of each on to a palette. With a damp paint brush, pick up the colour and paint the Pram and the Rattle, and one of the items on the Clothes Line. Cut out each one.
- Using a computer, open Word, and type a suitable greeting - in this case ‘On Your Christening’. Choose a font that you like the look of and print on to pink vellum, changing the printer paper type if necessary. To save wasting the rest of the sheet, you could type up lots of different greetings, and print them all off for later use. Cut out the wording, and dip the edges in embossing ink, and then silver embossing powder, as before.
- Stick a suitable sized resin sticker on to the photograph and cut round it.

- Tear a piece of pink mulberry paper slightly larger than the panel, and, using spray glue, stick it on to the card. Add the pearlescent pink panel in the centre.
- Stick the photo on to the panel. Add the cut out Pram, using sticky foam pads and add two small puffy hearts.
- Spray the back of the pink vellum with glue and add it to the card, slightly off centre.

- Stamp the Baby Clothes Line on the bottom left hand side of the card, with the Twilight ink pad, going off the left hand side. Find your cut out Clothes Line item from earlier, and stick it with foam pads over the corresponding part of the second pink panel. Stick this in turn over the corresponding part on the card.
- Using sticky foam pads, add the Rattle to the smallest pink panel and then stick that on the card, at the top right hand side.
- Take three flower buttons and cut off the shanks if necessary. Stick them in place with foam pads.
- Add spots of silver glitter glue to the three cut out images and also here and there on the card front to tie the images together.
The Finished Piece!
