Buttons and Sewing notions make for great cards and these stamps work really well together. Add in the Krafty Lady Torso Art Mould and you have a perfect tailors dummy for the sewing themed cards.

If you are interested in the newer colours of Alcohol Inks, please give The Stamp Bug Ltd a call - 01285 750308.

Step by Step:

  1. Press some Delight clay into the Mini Torso Art Mould. Press a wooden skewer into the back to create a groove and then remove from the mould and set aside to dry.
  2. Colour a piece of cream card with the Alcohol Inks, applying the inks with the Applicator Tool. Stamp the Stitch in Time image across the now coloured card and cut out.
  3. Cut a slightly larger piece of cream card (to fit the front of a folded A5 card) and use a sewing machine to stitch a zig zag border around the card. Leave the ends of the threads hanging, as these will be used as embellishments!

  4. Attach the stamped strip to the centre of the sewn card and then add the sewn card to the left hand side of a folded green card.
  5. Colour the clay torso with Alcohol Inks. The easiest way is to drip the ink onto the torso and then spread around with a small piece of cotton wool.

  6. Glue the skewer into the groove in the back of the torso and then glue the torso to the card front.
  7. Stamp the stitch in time image onto a piece of plain cream card, cut out the “dressmaking made easy” word section and attach this to the card in amongst the threads from the stitched card.

  8. Add a couple of buttons to finish.

Step by Step:

  1. Colour a piece of cream card with the Alcohol Inks. Stamp the Stitch in Time image across the coloured card and cut out before mounting onto a slightly bigger piece of cream card.
  2. Cut a piece of green card to fit the front of the folded card, leaving a small border.

  3. Randomly stitch three rows of zig zag stitching down the left side of the green card.

  4. Stamp the button border across the bottom of the green card and then attach the Stitch in Time piece overlapping it and to the right of the stitching.
  5. Stamp the Stitch in Time image onto a piece of plain cream card, cut out the “dressmaking made easy” word section and attach this over the same place on the coloured image. Cut out other words from the plain stamped card and add these amongst the stitching and the button border.
  6. Glue a couple of buttons one on top of the other to finish.

  3. Cut a piece of cream card to fit the front of the folded card. Tear or cut a couple of strips from the leftover coloured card, lay these down the left hand side of the cream card and stitch into place with a few rows of random zig zag stitching. Leave the ends of the thread hanging. Mount the card onto a slightly bigger piece of green card and then onto the folded card.

  4. Colour the clay torso with Alcohol Inks, as for the first card. Wrap some turquoise cotton around the waist of the torso and tie in a knot.

  5. Attach a piece of turquoise net to the right of the sewn area and then attach the stamped strip of card on top of it. Glue the torso onto the coloured card.
  6. Add a couple of buttons to finish.

These would make great cards for your enthusiastic sewing friends, be it for a birthday, general greeting or short letter.

They’d also make a brilliant gift of notelets for your sewing friends.

avatar Always wondered what you could do with that torso mould! these would be great
for a sewing friend as suggested. I do have a comment, in that when I have used
Versafine ink on glossy card it doesn't dry. I find Ranger best over the alcohol
inks.
