by Pat Townshend-Alnes

In the last issue of Guilded we showed you the Family Memories Tag Book as a project. Inspiration for this was taken from a beautiful Tag Book that Pat Townshend-Alnes, from Norway. Sent in as part of the Baby Card Swap. We thought it would be good to show you exactly what Pat made, although we haven’t repeated the instructions as these can be found in the August Guilded. We will run through the sequence of pages in Pat’s book with just a few brief details of what has been done.

The inside front page features a picture of the baby framed on a piece of card. The picture has been edged by hand. This page has a file folder on it with a pull out tag for the name of the baby. Each of the pages has a large tag hidden with space to add further information, such as a family tree, first tooth date, the food the baby likes etc. This page is for the name, weight, length and birth day. It has been stamped with baby images and it has a cute mini Baby-grow on a hanger as the central part of the page. A simple page here with two ribboned tags. The last but one page has space for a little bit of baby poetry and some co-ordinating buttons. The inside back page has a little booklet on it where all sorts of bits of information can be recorded. The back of the book has Pat’s name on it! All in all a fabulous book and what a perfect gift for a new mum and dad! A big thank you to Pat for sharing the idea in the first place and for agreeing to us showing her work in Guilded. I am sure you can think of many other occasions when a beautiful book like this could be made and given to create some super memories of some very special events. **Tell us about what you make one for!**
