by Jennie Atkinson

Jennie is the first of our Design Team 2 to use the I Love Paris unmounted plate. Here Jennie has given us all some super ideas and I am sure we will all want to have a go straightaway!
We used: - Stamps: I Love Paris – Artifacts Unmounted UMO25
- Love Flourish (Autumn Leaves Rhona Farrer)
- 13.5 x 13.5cm Cream Card Blank
- Smooth Cream Card
- Hammered Cream Card
- Ranger Distress Inks - Shabby Shutters Spiced Marmalade Dusty Concord Broken China
- Small Piece of Ribbon
- Small Piece of Brown Card
- Paper Flowers
- Brad
- Double-sidedTape
- Ranger Mini Mister
- Glue Dots
- Kitchen Foil
Watercolour Technique Step by Step: - Lay a piece of kitchen foil on a craft mat or newspaper, approximate size 30cm x 30cm. This is your palette. Apply Distress Ink to the foil by pressing each pad to the foil two or three times, starting with the lightest colours. Overlap the colours slightly but not heavily to avoid muddiness.
- With the mini-mister spray the foil palette lightly with just enough water to encourage the inks to bleed into one another.
 - Press the Eiffel Tower and Text stamp into the ink on your foil and stamp onto a piece of ivory smooth card. This is very unpredictable so if you are not happy with your first attempt, stamp again. Stamp a few images on the card to use for other projects.
 - To make the background paper - spray the remaining inks on the sheet with water once again and place a piece of hammered cream card on top of the inks (hammered side down onto the inks). Press firmly, but do not “swish” around! Lift the card carefully. If an area of the card is not covered, press this part into the inks again. Let the card dry naturally.
 - To make the card:
Once dry, cut a piece of backing paper 12.5cm x 8cm. Stamp the Flourish in the top left hand corner with black ink. Adhere to the left hand side of a 13.5cm square card. - Trim the Eiffel Tower and Text stamped image and matt it onto brown card. Using double-sided tape, adhere it to the card, slightly right of centre.
- Make a small cut in the card spine approximately 1.5cm from the bottom and thread ribbon through the slot and adhere both ends securely to the inside of the card with double-sided tape.
- Finish the card by attaching two paper flowers and a brad using the glue dots.
To Make the ATCs Additional materials: - Crafty Individuals Miniature Pictures - People and Places
- Ranger Archival Ink Jet Black
- Paper - torn from an old dictionary
- Three Eyelets
- Maya Road Microchip Heart
- Small Piece of Ribbon
- Spellbinders Nestabilties – Labels One
- Craft Foam Pads
- Glue Dots
- Tacky PVA Glue
Step by Step: - From the remaining background paper, cut two ATC sized pieces, 2.5 x 3.5 inches or 64 x 89 mm.
ATC1 - Stamp the Tower and Text stamp in black ink in the upper left hand corner. Adhere a thin strip of torn dictionary paper across the ATC near the bottom.
- Using the smallest Nestabilities label, cut a Crafty Individuals picture and a matt from cream card. Adhere the picture to the mat and attach it to the ATC over the dictionary paper.
- Set three eyelets in the top right hand corner. Stain the mini heart with Spiced Marmalade Distress ink and stick to bottom left hand side with tacky PVA glue.
ATC2 - Stamp the small Tower stamp in the right hand corner with black ink. Stamp the verse in black ink on a small piece of the background paper and cut out three individual lines. Glue these in a small sunburst across the top of the ATC.
- Add a torn piece of dictionary paper down the left hand side to cover the edges of the verse lines and add a piece of ribbon over this paper.
- Again, using the smallest Nestabilities label, cut a Crafty Individuals picture and matt from cream card. Adhere the picture to the mat and adhere to the ATC with craft foam pads.
Next Month Jennie shares with us a CD Holiday Book and an 8 x 8 Scrapbook page layout using the same set of stamps. The Finished Pieces
A big thank you to Jennie for this gorgeous project which, I am sure, will inspire us all.
