A fun calendar project. Might even help to keep the children occupied in the run up to Christmas! You can use pretty much any stamps you have, but we have listed here, those that Mickie used.

While the list of things we have used is quite long, don’t be put off, as I am sure you will already have a great deal of the items in your collection!

We used:

Monthly Stamps Used:

  1. January – Snow Strands
  2. February – Heart Strings
  3. March – Wavy Lines
  4. April – One of the Borders images
  5. May – Flower from Flower Power Plate
  6. June - Garden Elements
  7. July – Sea Life Elements
  8. August – Left Luggage
  9. September – One of the Borders images
  10. October – One of the Borders images
  11. November – Collage Dotty Wisp
  12. December – Shooting Stars

Step by Step:

  1. Stamp Dancing Chick seven times, Thinking Chick four times and Dashing Chick three times, on white card, using a black VersaFine ink pad. Carefully cut out each one. The Chicks have not been coloured in any way.
  2. Print off some of the green speckled paper, from the MY DOWNLOADS section of the SSP web site, by clicking here. Cover the oversized A6 with this paper and line with card/matching paper.
  3. Attach a 7 x 9cm rectangle of green card to the front cover and stick on a chick. Stamp the Happy New Year in black ink onto white card, cut out and attach to the front of the Chick, so it looks as if he is holding it.
  4. Using the appropriate background stamps, i.e. Snow Strand for January, and a VersaMark ink pad, stamp the coloured A6 cards and leave to dry. Using the VersaMark ink pad gives a watermark impression, not a stong image.
  5. Stamp the paper pieces to match the various card pages – I used Adirondack pads for this and various images from the list of stamps above. Each page is decorated with stamped images and has one of the cut out stamped Chicks attached. Our pages are as below.
  6. January Page –
    Happy New Year 2

Cut a piece of glitter card to cover the bottom half of the piece. Punch out a couple of circles (snowballs). Glue the piece of glitter card to the bottom part of the paper, scratching out under where the chicken will go and then glue the chick in place. Glue one snowball into one "hand" and the other in the sky.
  7. February Page –

    Happy New Year 3

Decorate the paper with the Trio of Hearts image, add the Chick and a punched out red heart.
  8. March Page –

    Happy New Year 4

Stamp the paper with the Dashes image from the Borders plate. Add a cut out scarf to the Dashing Chick.
  9. April Page –

    Happy New Year 5

A hand drawn Easter Egg is all that is added here.
  10. May Page –

    Happy New Year 6

Stamp the leaf border to the top left hand corner and add a couple of paper flowers to the Chick.
  11. June Page –

    Happy New Year 7

Stamp three small Flowers from the Flower Power Plate and add a punched out butterfly.
  12. July Page –

    Happy New Year 8

Stamp the Bubble Line horizontally across the lower part of the paper and add a yellow punched out duck.
  13. August Page –

    Happy New Year 9

Stamp the Left Luggage onto the paper, add the Chick, the stamp and cut out one piece of luggage and glue over the Chick.
  14. September Page –

    Happy New Year 10

Run the bottom section of the paper through a Paper Crimper, add the Chick and a few seed beads.
  15. October Page –

    Happy New Year 11

Use the Spider’s Web Folder and the Cuttlebug on this piece of paper. Attach the Chick and a die cut black bat.
  16. November Page –

    Happy New Year 13

Use the Lines image from the Borders plate, add the Chick a stamped and cut out scarf (from the Chick image) and some punched out leaves.
  17. December Page –

    Happy New Year 14

Stamp the Starry Christmas Tree and add a star sequin over each of the stars.
  18. Glue the relevant calendar page below each picture.
  19. Then bind the calendar all together using preferred binding method. I used a Bind it All, but punched holes and tied with ribbon would work very well.

This would make a great gift as well as something for yourself!
